Annual General Meeting
It's that time again folks. Our Annual General Meeting will be
on Thursday, May 28th, 1999 from 7p.m. to 10 p.m. at the River Walk Mill,
upstairs in Rafters. A change that we are making this year, to benefit
everybody, is that YOU AND YOUR GUESTS CAN ATTEND AT NO COST TO YOU!!!
(Except
maybe for that stunning new outfit you buy to show off to us all).
A fun evening is planned with entertainment by Pat Marshall accompanied
by our old friend (well she's not actually old, but she is a great friend
to us all) Donna "Fingers" Richards. So please join us for coffee
and dessert, greet old friends, maybe win a door prize, enjoy the memorabilia
and have some fun. You will also be able to exercise the right you
have as a member of Brockville Operatic Society Inc., to vote on any motions
and decisions proposed. The Board of Directors has invited everyone
to attend, current members, past members, life members and future members.
So come one, come all. Our telephone committee will be in touch with
you to confirm your place and we look forward to seeing you here, on Thursday
May 28th at 7p.m. at Rafters.
Photographs, Photographs
Now think, did you order one or more photographs by Mark Lysco, of
"Forum", and, what's more PAY FOR THEM?? In that case please call
Marg Alexander at 345-2357. She called every-one, leaving messages
for those who were not home to let you know that the pictures were available
for pick up in the evening of March 31, at Musi-Theatre. Not very
many people showed up, so......if you are one of them, call Marg at the
above number and collect your property. Thank you.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum
February 12, 13, 19, 1999 - 8 p.m.
February 20, 1999 - 2 p.m.
At the Brockville Arts Centre
At these four performances, there were four cheering standing ovations
for "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum". Audiences
obviously loved the show and the entire cast and crew were thrilled with
this response. Four and a half months of rehearsals; designing sets
and costumes; painting; setting lights; and making sure names were spelt
correctly and suddenly, four performances later it was all over.
Four and a half months of rehearsals and four performances. It hardly
seems real now but what a wonderful experience for everyone. This
success did not come easily or without some problems, but with extremely
dedicated department heads and well-cast roles the recipe for success was
at hand.
Mary and I would like to thank the department heads for all their hard
work and dedication. The Board of Directors of Brockville Operatic
Society Inc. would like to congratulate them on their creativity, ingenuity
and thrift in this production. They were, in no particular
