Province Selects Brockville for Immigration Case Study

The Ontario Ministry of Agricultural Food and Rural Affairs have selected two communities for a case study under the Community Immigration Retention and Rural Ontario project (CIRRO). Both Chatham Kent and the City of Brockville will be Ontario case study sites for this initiative towards seeking solution to many rural community needs associated with the issue of human capital opportunities. The goal is to build and enhance the capacity of selected communities to attract, integrate and retain newcomers to Ontario in order to sustain their economic growth.

The main criteria utilized by the province in selecting case study communities focused on Brockville’s strong leadership capacity and commitment to document the readiness and willingness of the community to participate in this new initiative. The community steering committee is being mobilized to ensure participation from all segments of community including health, education, social and business.
