The first Lions
Club was formed in the

the past 10 years we have donated approximately one half a million dollars to
charity. Among the large projects were: Brockville Public Library
$50,000.00, Brockville YMCA $50,000.00, Lions Foundation of Canada $60,000.00.
The smaller amounts went for local teams, bursaries, crossing guards etc.
The
Canadian National Institute for the Blind, locally, provincially and worldwide
is of major interest to all Lions Clubs.
In order to
support our various projects we must raise the required funds. We operate a
bingo each Sunday afternoon and members are allocated to one of 4 teams.
Throughout the year we sell draw tickets, Easter bunnies etc. and put on various
activities to raise funds. During the year there are various one day activities
that are both service oriented and provide good fellowship.
Membership
in Lions Clubs is open to men and women and is by invitation only. If you
are interested, contact any Lions member.

Blood
Donor Clinic was held on Thursday, June 17/8.
Lion Lorna making sure local contractor Jack Vandusen is comfortable while
he is donating blood. He seems to be enjoying it!
