Legacy Fund
The City of Brockville Legacy Fund is accepting applications as of March 1, 2024.
2024 funding requests are to be completed using our online submission form.
Funding Recreational and Cultural Capital Projects
The Brockville Legacy Fund was established in 2009 with an allocation of $200,000 from the City of Brockville into a fund under the management of the Brockville and Area Community Foundation. Annual earnings from the invested funds, less a management fee, are distributed in Brockville to organizations who apply for funding of recreational and cultural capital projects in Brockville.
The City of Brockville Legacy Committee consists of two members of Council and the two most recent Citizens of the Year. Qualifying projects will be determined by the four person committee.
The committee considers several factors
- Eligibility: the Brockville Legacy Fund is a capital grant. We do not fund operating costs, for instance insurance or rentals. The funds must be used to purchase an asset.
- Community needs: does the project help address a community need?
- Whether the applicant has received funding in the past. We strive to grant to a variety of organizations so that more people have a chance to benefit from the fund. If you have had funding in the past, we may consider another group who has never had funding.
- The Legacy Committee requires a clear idea of what the benefit to the community is and the likelihood of success of the project should only partial funding be available to the applicant.
- Consideration is made regarding other funding sources who could be approached for their project.
Deadline for applications is Friday April 19, 2024, at 4:00 pm
